CURRENT NOMHA PLAYERS:
All current members of NOMHA are requested to register online with payment by credit card. If paying by cheque, complete the Player Registation Form and submit with payment. Instructions and a link to on-line registration are shown below. For families registering more than 2 players, please use the hard copy of the Player Registration Form and mail it in with payment.
Fair Play Code of Conducts signed by parent(s)/guardian(s) and player and the ePACT (www.epactnetwork.com) Medical information needs to be complete. These will be collected by the team designated manager or Hockey Canada Safety Person. Please print these forms and bring them with you to your first practice.
NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION FEE FOR FIRST-TIME PLAYERS:
Players registering for the first time with NOMHA, must complete the Player Registration Form and mail it in with payment. Do not forget to include a copy of the player’s Birth Certificate.
Only players that reside in the North Okanagan boundaries and do NOT have a Hockey Canada registration number are eligible for the New Player Registration fee of $250.00.
Transferring from Another Association:
If a player participated with another Association in previous seasons, you must complete the OMAHA Move With Parent Application form. This form to be completed and submitted to the New Association. The following documents must also be submitted in order to prove new residency:
Purchase, lease or tenancy agreement
Utility bill showing parent's name & new address
Driver's license showing parent's name & new address
Canada Post change of address
INITIATION "ONE" PROGRAM:
The Initiation "ONE" Program is slightly different than our regular Initiation Program. North Okanagan Minor Hockey's Initiation "ONE" Program is an introduction to hockey with the focus on fun while developing skating and hockey skills in a structured format. It provides a positive beginning to the sport in a cost friendly environment.
The Initiation "ONE" Program consists of a single one-hour ice time per week (typically on Mondays). Full hockey equipment is required: CSA approved helmet and mask, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, cup, shin guards, skates and stick. The cost for this program is $100.00 and is available for Initiation aged players (born in 2010 & 2011) who are new to hockey.
Players that register in the Initiation "ONE" Program will have an opportunity to join the regular Initiation Program prior to October 31st for an additional cost of $50.00.
* Our regular Initiation Program typically runs practices 2 times a week and will participate in games after the Christmas break.
ATOM DEVELOPMENT, PEEWEE, BANTAM AND MIDGET REP:
Players interested in playing Atom Development, Peewee Rep, Bantam Rep or Midget Rep must register by July 15th to verify if there is enough interest in having a dev/rep team. Testing for each division and tryouts will be held in early September. Exact dates and times for each division will be posted on the website at a later date. Players wanting to try-out for a development or rep team will pay a $100.00 try-out fee. This fee is added to your registration fee.
NOMHA must be notified prior to August 15th, 2017 should a player decide to not try-out. No try-out refunds will be given after this date.
Please note that there is additional carding/rep fees add to all development and rep teams. This fee is to cover the additional ice costs, refs and other expenses associated with running a development or rep fee. The fees for the 2017/18 season have been set at $75.00/Atom Dev player, $175.00/Peewee, Bantam & Midget Rep players.
Okanagan Zone Tryout Camps
BC Hockey, along with the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association (OMAHA), have announced the camp dates for the Okanagan Zone tryout camps.
Thompson: August 25-27, 2017 - Brock Arena, Kamloops
North: August 11-13, 2017 - Nor Val Arena, Armstrong
Central: August 19-31, 2017 - Royal LePage Place, West Kelowna (postponed from May 23-26)
South: June 17-18, 2017 - OHS Training Rink, Penticton
Midget Tryouts - North Zone August 13-16, 2017 - Sicamous Arena
Coaches for the program will be announced soon.
The program was developed to allow players to play at the highest level and allows districts to provide regional teams and pull from a greater draw zone.
ADDITIONAL CAMPS OFFERED BY NOMHA:
We are offering 2 camps this year. A Conditioning Camp for players wishing to try-out for a development or rep teams and a Skate & Skills Development/Training Program (On & Off Ice) & Goalie Training Program.
Conditioning Camp - Held at Nor-Val Arena. Exact dates and times for each division will be posted at a later date.
Skate & Skill Development/Dryland/Goalie Training Program - We will be offering a program that will combine skate & skill development/training both on and off the ice. Goalie development will also take place during this program. The on-ice program will be held at Nor-Val arena and the off-ice dryland sessions will be held at the Hassen Arena and will be held every Monday night. Further details in regards to this program to follow at a later date.
Space is limited, so register early. It is recommended for all players selected to a NOMHA development or Rep teams to participate in the Skate & Skills/Off-Ice Training Program. Note that goalies from the Bantam and Midget Rep programs may participate in the goalie training. Please contact NOMHA to register.
